Legally authorized to practise

Practising

Refers to registrants who are entitled to practice physiotherapy in the province of New Brunswick.

Provisional

Refers to initial registrants who are entitled to practice while completing a prescribed period of monitoring or supervision, while waiting to pass either the Canadian Physiotherapy Examination (CPTE), or meet prescribed conditions for full registration. Provisional registration also applies to non-practising registrants who have applied for reinstatement to practice and who must complete a period of monitoring or supervision or meet additional prescribed conditions for reinstatement.

Temporary

Temporary refers to any temporary registration for which a registrant can apply. Temporary registrants are entitled to practice physiotherapy in the province of New Brunswick.

Not legally authorized to practise

Not Practising

Refers to registrants who are not currently active in their practice and have been granted a non-practising registration. Non-practising registrants are not entitled to practice physiotherapy in New Brunswick under this registration category.

Not Registered

Refers to registrants who resigned or did not renew their registration and are no longer authorized to practice physiotherapy in New Brunswick.

Terms, Conditions or Limitations

Any terms, conditions, or limitations on a registrant’s licence will be listed here.

Disciplinary Action

If a disciplinary action against a registrant has been ordered for publication, it will be listed here either indefinitely or for the duration specified by the CPTNB Discipline Committee.

In New Brunswick, anyone who practices physiotherapy, or uses the title "Physiotherapist" or any other title implying they are legally authorized to provide these services, must be registered with the College of Physiotherapists of New Brunswick (CPTNB).

The public register is designed to verify if individuals:

are registered with CPTNB and entitled to practise physiotherapy in New Brunswick;
have had their registration suspended or revoked; and/or
have been subject to disciplinary findings.

Please note:

"Registrant" refers to a person registered with the College of Physiotherapists of New Brunswick.
The public register is continuously updated. There are many reasons why a registrant's status may change throughout the year. CPTNB recommends searching the register at the time information is required to ensure the most current information is obtained.

If you suspect someone is engaging in the practice of physiotherapy or using the title of "Physiotherapist", or any other title implying they are authorized to provide these services, and are not registered with CPTNB, please notify us at info@cptnb.ca or 506-849-9777.
